On Earth Day 2025, YouPaD showed up for the planet in a powerful way. In partnership with Trash Monger and a coalition of civil society organizations, we hosted a major summit under the theme: “Our Power, Our Planet – From Policy to Action.” This event was designed to be a critical catalyst, bridging the often-wide gap between ambitious climate policies and the tangible, on-the-ground action that Nigeria urgently needs.
The summit convened over 100 changemakers, including policymakers, private sector innovators, civil society leaders, and passionate youth advocates. The conversations were focused, strategic, and solution-oriented, covering key topics such as scaling renewable energy in Nigeria, ensuring environmental justice for all communities, and creating meaningful pathways for youth engagement in climate action. The energy in the room was a testament to a growing, unified movement.
